چکیده

We study closed choice principles for different spaces. Given information about what does not constitute a solution, closed choice determines a solution. We show that with closed choice one can characterize several models of hypercomputation in a uniform framework using Weihrauch reducibility. The classes of functions which are reducible to closed choice of the singleton space, of the natural numbers, of Cantor space and of Baire space correspond to the class of computable functions, of functions computable with finitely many mind changes, of weakly computable functions and of effectively Borel measurable functions, respectively. We also prove that all these classes correspond to classes of non-deterministically computable functions with the respective spaces as advice spaces. The class of limit computable functions can be characterized with parallelized choice on natural numbers. On top of these results we provide further insights into algebraic properties of closed choice. In particular, we prove that closed choice on Euclidean space can be considered as “locally compact choice” and it is obtained as product of closed choice on the natural numbers and on Cantor space. We also prove a Quotient Theorem for compact choice which shows that single-valued functions can be “divided” by compact choice in a certain sense. Another result is the Independent Choice Theorem, which provides a uniform proof that many choice principles are closed under composition. Finally, Preprint submitted to Elsevier 29 September 2010 we also study the related class of low computable functions, which contains the class of weakly computable functions as well as the class of functions computable with finitely many mind changes. As one main result we prove a uniform version of the Low Basis Theorem that states that closed choice on Cantor space (and the Euclidean space) is low computable. We close with some related observations on the Turing jump operation and its initial topology.

Another proof of Banaschewski's surjection theorem

We present a new proof of Banaschewski's theorem stating that the completion lift of a uniform surjection is a surjection. The new procedure allows to extend the fact (and, similarly, the related theorem on closed uniform sublocales of complete uniform frames) to quasi-uniformities ("not necessarily symmetric uniformities"). Further, we show how a (regular) Cauchy point on a closed uniform subl...

Effective Choice and Boundedness Principles in Computable Analysis

In this paper we study a new approach to classify mathematical theorems according to their computational content. Basically, we are asking the question which theorems can be continuously or computably transferred into each other? For this purpose theorems are considered via their realizers which are operations with certain input and output data. The technical tool to express continuous or compu...

A new proof for the Banach-Zarecki theorem: A light on integrability and continuity

To demonstrate more visibly the close relation between thecontinuity and integrability, a new proof for the Banach-Zareckitheorem is presented on the basis of the Radon-Nikodym theoremwhich emphasizes on measure-type properties of the Lebesgueintegral. The Banach-Zarecki theorem says that a real-valuedfunction $F$ is absolutely continuous on a finite closed intervalif and only if it is continuo...

Some Properties of Fuzzy Norm of Linear Operators

In the present paper, we study some properties of fuzzy norm of linear operators. At first the bounded inverse theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces is investigated. Then, we prove Hahn Banach theorem, uniform boundedness theorem and closed graph theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces. Finally the set of all compact operators on these spaces is studied.

A Common Fixed Point Theorem Using an Iterative Method

Let $ H$ be a Hilbert space and $C$ be a closed, convex and nonempty subset of $H$. Let $T:C rightarrow H$ be a non-self and non-expansive mapping. V. Colao and G. Marino with particular choice of the sequence  ${alpha_{n}}$ in Krasonselskii-Mann algorithm, ${x}_{n+1}={alpha}_{n}{x}_{n}+(1-{alpha}_{n})T({x}_{n}),$ proved both weak and strong converging results. In this paper, we generalize thei...
